Le Tour de Langkawi is back with more excitements!



9 June- With a new tagline ‘Ready For the World,’ the 17th edition of Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) in 2012 will be another spectacular event anticipated by all cyclists and fans around the world!
The launching ceremony of LTdL’s new image and the racing route announcement was officiated by the Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Dato’ Sri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, accompanied by the Secretary General Dato’ Mohid Bin Mohamed, National Sports Council Director General Dato’ Zolkples Embong and Malaysian National Cycling Federation President Tuan Haji Abu Samah Abdul Wahab at the podium, Ministry of Youth and Sports.
LTdL 2012 will be organised by the National Sports Council in collaboration with the Malaysian National Cycling Federation. The race maintains a 2.HC (Hors Classe) status and is recognised and sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI) and UCI Asia Tour.
The tagline ‘Ready For the World’ resembles the spirit and aspiration of the cyclists who will be competing in the race, and challenge the present track cyclists who have been classified as “world-beaters” such as Azizulhasni Awang, Josiah Ng and Rizal Tisin.
The LTdL 2012 challenge will be kicked off on February 24 with individual time trail along a 20.3km course in Putrajaya, with a total distance of 1414.8km, and it is expected that 22 professional teams will be featured in this challenge, including three local teams- the national team, TSG and LeTua Cycling Team.
